TRACK REVIEW: Fridge Poetry – Crash Down (Demo)
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing Johnny Foreigner play live, no bout you’ve been awed by the drumming machine that is Junior Elvis Washington Laidely, and also marvelled at his ability to trigger samples and play synths whilst remaining lyrically flawless. The electronic side of JoFo for which he is responsible takes centre stage for Fridge Poetry, Laidely’s solo project. The demo for ‘Crash Down’ features washed-out vocals by Thomas Sherwood Nicholls – of JF’s ‘All Moseley Gardens’ – laid over a dreamy, fuzzy Fruity Loops beat that’s like a Brummy Clams Casino with a faster pulse.
